      Answer

      Hello John,

The medal in question is the "Mecklenburg- Schwerin 1914 2nd Class".
Prior to the unification of the German States, each State gave its own awards. This award is given for similar actions which one would have and did wear the Iron Cross 2nd Class.

This award also came in a First Class example.

      My best,
      Vince Leone

        Medal Bar

I have seen attachment bars like this on WW1 era pieces...such a wide varience on what was used on WW1 pieces I do not think it is that uncommon.

This site has good stuff, service and guaranty but you will pay full value for their goods. At $200 the bar is pretty close to market really...people are now paying over $100 for a single EK2 WW1 nowadays when they are well marked so getting three medals on a bar for this price is not too bad if you are happy with it.

        cheers

IMO it is a good bar, personally I am less keen on that stlye of mounting. Price wise, it is not the bargain of the century nor is it extortionally priced.

Where are you buying EK2's? I see them go for $50 a pop on US ebay every day of the week, regardless of maker mark. Ammersee
