    16mm miniatures on chain

Latest arrival, 4 x 16mm miniatures on a golden chain with pins. I am not really an imperial collector and my interest is mainly (for now) the EK and the Hindenburg but could you give me some info about the other 2 awards, when and how they were awarded, etc...

    Hi Terry,

nice chain. You recognized the EK and the Hindenburg-cross. The next is the Landwehr-long-service-cross 1st class (IMO one of the nicest long-service-awards from WW1) and the last one is a Prussian Red-cross-medal 3rd class.

    best,
    Gerd

        Hi Terry,

unfortunately i don´t know a website, which has infos about this awards, but i can tell you what i know:
The Red-Cross-Medal(Roth-Kreuz-Medaille) was awarded in 3 classes. The 3rd class(on your chain) and the 2nd class(the same, except the cross is red enameled) were medals, the 1st class was a little pinback-cross. You can find masses of the 3rd class, the 2nd is quite rare and the 1st class is really rare(What a gradation, but you will know, what i mean). Really fu**ing scarce. It was awarded to medicals, nurses, Men and Women from the Red Cross and so on...
The Landwehr-long-service existed in 2 classes. The 2nd class was a medal, the 1st(on your chain) was a cross. I don´t know, how long they had to serve for the stages, maybe one of the other members can add this information and maybe a translation for "Landwehr"?

        best,
        Gerd

          just to add,

EK and Frontfighters cross need no further info?

The Landwehr was a Prussian Reserve status.
The Long service cross was awarded to Landwehr Officers (not enlisted men and NCO´s!) after being 20 years commissioned.

          Best regards

          Daniel
