    Hi Glasmanden,
that rosette? to my knowlege certainly does not belong there (IMHO) and looks like a British piece of insignia as found on the Falklands medals (i belive)

Isn't it a device worn on the British 1914 or 1914-15 star ribbon?

        You are right guys,

it is definetly a British rosette. You can find it on the British ribbon bars to denote 2nd awards of a decoration or batlle bars on a war medal.
And it does NOT belong there on the EK.

        Best regards

Similar rose belongs to Finnish Liberation war medal when it is awarded for gallantry - not just to commemorate participants. Perhaps he was with Baltic Division in Finland in 1918 and got the medal - did not wear it, or did not have ribbon to add on ribbon bar, and put the rose on the EK...

There are about ten different roses on Liberation war medals, so one pictured is not the same as yours, but yours is the same as we have used...

          Just my 2cents...

              Sooo...

Do you remove the rosette? Leave it on? Don't care because it's an inexpensive item anyway?

Just curious as to your thoughts on this sort of thing.

I will leve it on, it't was like this when i bought it.

I asume that Some one must have put it there for a reason.
