Painting of Kaiser Wilhelm

I have this painting in my living room. The size is approx. 2' x 3'. It is handpainted in oil and signed K. Maregh (or Mavegh). The frame is very heavy and original.

Has anybody any idea about the painter and about the possible value?

It's aesthetically a nice one. You done an Internet search on the painter? Certainly El Kaiser was a popular subject that hung in every state office and most homes.

Why don't you get a decent photo of the signature and let us play with it. I would think a 'known' artist would show up somewhere.

I'm thinking MAVENG which is a family name.

Neither combinations shows anything in Google. I woun't try Mayer - my computer might explode. I guess this will stay a mistery.
