Carsten Zeige auction

Did anyone get anything from the auction today? There were some serious pilot badges up for grabs. Looks like someone was dissolving a collection. The estimates were low typically to entice but the realised prices were pretty good.Some nice pieces.Ferg1.

I didn't place any bids this time through.

I've gotten a few things over the years from Carsten Zeige's auctions, but I find you have to know your stuff as not everything is original. Last auction had a fake 1870 Prinzen EK2 and a "Ninth Bead," and this one had a ground-down 1914 EK2 masquerading as an 1813. Thus I tend not to bid on something that I like unless I know for sure it's a good one .

His catalogues are always nice, and his staff is very friendly and helpful.

The Meybauer navy air ship badge is the first i ever seen on market. One of few original badges over the years.

Some of the aviation badges were superb,some were questionable. I tried for the Bavarian retired pilot but was blown out. Nice Schaper made sea pilot badge in solid silver went for 3000 euro !!!!!!!!!!!! Tag on the 23% auction fees and thats alot of cash. Ferg1.
