Peter, this marking is normally attributed to Friedlaender of Berlin. What type of order is it on?

      Hi Vince
It is stamped on the back of an iron cross below the needle hook. The same cross is also marked 800.

Fr is suppose to be a different maker than FR, which is also seen. The mark you describe sounds like it's good and in the right location. I'd love to see a picture because of the 800 mark. I haven't seen one of these with 800 on it, but it's not implausible.

Thanks for your input guys. I do have good photos but for good reasons i like to keep things under wrap for a while. I hope you understand. Thanks once again.

Interesting. This mark can also be found on EK2s and some other Imperial awards I believe. Not a rare maker, but I would like to see this 800 marked example.

Peter, compare it to those in the data base here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=263251
