    Austrian buckle

    <TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR vAlign=top><TD class=alt2>Hello all,
    I am wondering about the Austro-Hungary WWI buckle with two shields and crowns on it. I know there are excellent brass reproductions out there of all the K.u.K. buckles that were available at the Army Museum shop in Vienna;
    1. Austrian with double-headed eagle (removable and stamped)
    2. Hungarian with straight-sided shield and crown (removable and stamped)
    3. Hungarian with scalloped shield and crown (stamped)
    4. Bosnian? with scimitar-wielding arm on shield with crown (stamped)
    5. Austro-Hungarian with two shields and crowns (removable)
    I have original examples of 1, 2 & 3 and a 5 that I am doubtful about, despite its excellent quality. Does anyone have an original example of the 5 buckle? I have never seen period photographic evidence of it.
    Yours curiously,
    Kevin
