    I'm guessing that.....

.... I sold my last "Beamter" bar way too low then!

      Rick,

I am quite sure I will see this Bavarian bar again at Gunzenhausen or at Illingen... it won't be sold very soon... I could have given him no more than 900 Euro... and I felt being very generous.

I saw many beautiful bars, but after I heard the price I didn't even try to get a better price... there were so high!

Btw.. there were some cuties around helping various different dealers... I liked this young lady (bad picture, it doesn't really put her in a very good light), but there were some others... but very few. Unfortunately Militaria is exclusively a men's club!

I saw Weitze being over-friendly with an young Eastern European client with his good looking girlfriend (I don't know, but to me she could look Bulgarian or Russian)...

      Ciao,

      Claudio

Yes, Rick, that was my dilemma... I ended up buying two auction's catalogues, a Miniaturekette (see picture the one with the Sachsen Meiningen Ehrenzeichen für Verdienst im Kriege 1915-18, which I previously saw on a on-line catalogue and I got it marked down at the show), a couple of nice books... and that's about it! My brother Marco found some rare 15mm ribbons and a couple of interestings simple but nice trapezoidal bars... not to much! I went home with all my cash again!

Btw somebody knows Sascha Zimmermann... very nice fellow with always a stunning display of very rare Imperial orders and medal bars... but his prices are prohibitive... I almost have the terror to ask him his prices. I got the impression he doesn't really want to sell his stuff! For example he got an extremely rare medal bar owned by a Prussian Prince (I don't remember the name... sorry!) with the Fürstlich Hohenzollernscher Hausorden, zweites Modell 1852, Kleinkreuz für Prinzen des Hauses and a couple more commerative medals going for.... guess

          Mere..... EUR 8'000.-!!

Needless to say that I almost fainted... and most importantly I forgot to take the pictures... perhaps I was too excited by the sight of such beautiful enameled Imperial orders with so much gold...

          Ciao,

          Claudio

Great reporting Claudio, I'll be in Stuttgart in three weeks, there will probably be Spring garden show or something.

I could not help but notice the picture of sweet-cheeks you posted above was titled "Pickelhaube Stand with cutie 2.JPG"

So where is "Pickelhaube Stand with cutie 1.JPG" ??

That must have been Weize's stand? Not a single item there I could afford.......

              Tony,

The "Pickelhaube Stand with cutie 1.JPG" picture is the same picture as the one I showed here, only a bit bigger, therefore I couldn't post it here, due to the size limitations.

To tell you the truth this young lady was very nice to me... If I had ask to take a better picture of her instead of the pickelhauben, I am pretty sure that she would have said yes. She was simply that kind of friendly and cute girl... I should have taken more pictures, but I forgot my camera at the hotel.

Yes, indeed, Tony, times are getting tougher for us Imperial collectors... prices seemed to have skyrockered since a couple of years...

              Ciao,

              Claudio

                  Claudio.

I've been a bit late in reading this, but it's a great report.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post it.

                  Regards,

                  Robin.

                    Hi Claudio,

a bit late but also from me a comment.

The Generals grouping with all in gold was Rudolf Karl Henning von der Osten.
And the eastern client at Weitze with the good looking girl was our very own Alex Ponomarew.

                    Best regards

                    Daniel

                        Hi Mike,

I do not know who had it. I just ID´d him by the combination of awards.

                        Best regards

Thanks Dan...I guess you could use the same technique for IDing the girls...

Alex visited me with his (really beautiful) wife after Stuttgart.

                                Dear Alex,

I remember the faces of the couple I meant in my earlier posting. Your girlfriend is really attractive , but she is not the one I meant! She had longer hair (red) hair. The couple I saw was definately from an eastern country.

Thank you for posting your picture and have clarified that!

                                Ciao,
