Any opinions? I tried to get better pictures of the back. Any guidance as to what to do?

Is it common to see Meybauer shaped pins on Juncker marked badges? I do not know this badge at all and have no opinion, just an observation and a question.
              Best regards,

Hi Paul, I know that many people do noy care for these type of Luftschiffer badges . Two main reasons are that they carry the Juncker logo that has the serif 'J ' and secondly they are seen reasonably often. Having said all that , I like the badge , and I am not just saying that because it's example I have in my collection , well maybe a bit .....
I have looked at these badges an awful lot over the years and to me they are original. I have also handled very, very good copies of these , dangerously good copies ! As I sais before there are several reasons not like these badges but it is my studied opinion that they are good, well some of them anyway. There are several key factors that IMO define a genuine example.Yours seems from what I can see to forfil these criteria. Ferg1.

This is a thread from 2009 about my zeppelin badge. Has any more information come to light in the past few years?

                      new info

Probably the best new reference touching on the subject would be C.Baldes' new book on Imperial Aircrew Badges. Flipping briefly through the pages dedicated to the badges of Army Airship Corps I don't see one example being identified to come from C.E.Juncker. Few from W.Schott but none from CEJ.
                      cheers
                      Matt

Interesting note that none were made or awarded during WW1. They were taken up after the war by the Weimar Republic and issued during the summer of 1920.

It was a commemorative badge ,that's why it wasn't around during the war. It was up to the ex-luftschiffer crew member ,given he had the right qualifying criteria to apply and pay for his own badge. Not an awarded piece. Without going into reams of info ,I have been looking closely at these badges for many years and find alot of details that would say these were good. Ferg

I believe badges with this mark are considered fake according to Stephen Previtera.
