Silesian Eagle - Nicht Fuer Schlesien!

I have this and was curious why the legend "Fuer Schlesien" would have been removed. It looks to be deliberate, going by the enamel damage. Any ideas?

You could be right. I hadn't thought of that. Looking at it again, there is wear to the reverse in a similar position.

As to maker, I haven't a clue.
