    Calling all Ribbon Bar experts

    It's a puzzlement !!!!!!

Santa left this ribbon bar, but neglected to say what ribbon it was

I thought it initially belonged to Baden (similiar colors) . . . the Karl Friedich Order or the Service Medal, but those have white edging where this does not. I've been through all my ribbon references and nothing comes close.

Could I be wrong? You betcha !!

    Comments & opinions appreciated

      Hi David,

I´m sure it is something Baden.
Colors match and also the silver sidestripes look like Baden (Orden der Treue, Medaille 1848 also had silver threads)
I assume it is something Veterans association, nothing official.
Interesting is also the ribbon below. Can You make up what it is?

      Best regards

      Daniel

Daniel . . . Thanx for the quick reply.

I have tried looking to see what the underneath ribbon is, but it is very tight and does not give. There could be a central red stripe to go with the ones on each side.

hmmm. with a white stripe in the middle it could be a Firebrigade medal, with a red stripe in the middle even a Lifesaving medal. I just wonder, why somebody upgraded such a beautie to wear something unofficial.
A Kriegerverein would be my best guess. Maybe our marvelous Ricky knows more.

          Best regards

Sorry, I've been off slogging scans onto the Evil Empire Forum and only just found this:

I'd say that is a genuine, nonofficial Wasfüristdas THINGUM ribbon stretched over the ribbon of the 1902 Baden Jubilee Medal: underneath = correctly overlapped yellow ribbon with a red stripe near each edge, on a WW1-1920s tab back mounting..

            BAD Badener! BAD, naughty Badener!!!

              Hi Rick,

nee, I do not think it is a Jubilee underneath.Red stripes too small.
I also looked around and around....no match for that upper ribbon....

              Best regards

              Daniel
