    Binoculars / Fernglas 04 ?

I search for informations about this "Militärglas 1904". Is it german? I only know the "Fernglas 08".

I've seen a number of similar pairs of glasses but without the engraving--they're generally made in France. I've never seen this style with a German maker's marking or issue mark.

Thanks. Have you got maybe a similar example? Are the french ones marked?

              Fernglas

No, I don't have a pair of French ones, but have seen them over the years. They are usually marked on the bakelite eye pieces. I do have a pre WWI German pair with leather covering that are engraved on one of the shafts with a crown and serial number and are maker marked on the bakelite eye pieces also.
The design of all from that period is similar, so they could well be some sort of early German binoculars.
There is a book written by Steven Rohan about German military binoculars, but I don't have a copy. They might be pictured in there.
Sorry I don't know more about early binoculars!
