A lot of beautiful Reservisten items were made in the Imperial Germany. I think we should show, what is to find in our collections! Use this thread to post your Reservisten steins, bottles, photos, ashtrays, badges etc.!

Show the items of the Kaiser's Reservisten! I will start!

Not all Imperial porcelain beauties were made for Reservisten. Here is such an example. The first thought: A Reservsten ashtray to remember his regiment.

But it is a Christmas present from a soldier to his parents 1912!

                Thanks guys.

On my mother's side, all male members joined the military. This goes back as far as I can trace. My Great Grandfather was in the US Ambulance Corps in WW1. He brought back the flask above(as well as a lot of other stuff). He is one guy I wish I had been able to talk with! He had a lot of stories he told his kids, as well as bring backs and photos. He was even wounded and got the Purple Heart Ribbon(the medal was not even established until just before WW2).

                  Hi Paul,

Interesting story. Your grandfather would have been eligible for the Purple Heart upon the decoration's establishment in 1936. He probably initially received a wound chevron. He probably later applied for the PH which is why he had the ribbon. Hoipefully you will infd the award.

It gets much better. I found out recently that both my grandfather and great grandfather were military medics(WW2 and WW1).

The funny thing is that I did not discover this until after I was well into my military medical career path! Too funny.

Here is a really long thread I did, with photos.
