    Medal ID help Needed

Hi, I am having a massive clear out and re-organisation of my collections at the moment and I have just found these 4 medals that I picked up years ago. I am sure they are all Prussian Medals but I can’t remember what they were for? Any help here would be of much help to me! The first medal is a large impressive medal that is solid silver by the looks of it and is approx 4.5cm across and weighs 53g.

    Cheers,

    Kai

            1) A medal was struck for the 25 anniversary of the wedding of the Prussian King Wilhelm and his wife Auguste Viktoria in the year 1889.

            2) is a medal from the Prussian King Wilhelm IV given to the soldiers who fought 1848/1849against the revolutionary Germans.

Hi Gerdan, thanks very much for the info, do you have any ideas on the other two medals? And I am going to give fellow WAF members first shout on these medals on the estand before they go on my site for sale, so any help on a fair price to ask for these medals would be of much help as well.

              Cheers,

              Kai

                # 5 should be the Kriegsdenkmünze 1870/71 for those who took part in the war against France. On the front side you should read "Dem siegreichen Heere" Gott war mit uns. Ihm sei die Ehre. The bronce for the medal was taken from french cannons.

#4 is the Prussian War Aid Cross or Prussian War Assistance Cross or Preussen Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe.

Somewhat common and not terribly valuable. I don't have current prices but...$12-$25. Anyone can disagree with me...

The other's you should do better $$. Not as common, and great for the right collector.

Hi Claudius, thanks very much for the extra info, and help with a value on one of my medals. Do you know where the best source would be for up to date prices for the other three that I posted up?

Prices can be subjective, after considering what the current market will bear.

Believe me, I know...I have some Imp. German research books for sale and I have LOW prices and still no takers!
