    red baron

good film, great action scenes, the guys looked like they stepped out of a photograph.very young guys makes you think, glad i have not to go through what my grandad and his generation went through, not that he was a flyer he was a tommy in the trenches carrying a stretcher with his mate.only the wooden acting let the film down. regards mick.

It was great flick especially the en masse dog fights with one the allied observation weather balloon shot down in flame w/ a flare. I like the opening and ending scenes, where they dropped laurets at the burial ceremonies. It's too bad though they didn't show the dog fight on how the Red Baron died.

Any word on a U.S. release yet? It's a shame they didn't show the final dogfight in the movie. I know that their has been some controversy on who actually shot him down. I recently saw a show on the Military History Channel, and they ran test after test using a laser, mounted in a biplane, and on the ground, to try to figure out who could have shot him down. I believe it was their conclusion that an Australian machine gunner on the ground actually shot him down, at least, based on their test, and it was pretty convincing. Did anyone elso happen to see that show?

I did not see that show, but i have read some books about it, and to me the Aussie machine gunner story is the most convincing.
