The originals that I have seen and the one I own straight from a WWI vet in the 70's have shorter pins holding the back plate on. Just a personal observation.

Thanks Bryan but it depends on the maker and the production run. I have several Junckers that have different styles of pins on the back.

I missed one a few weeks ago at e-bay, I think that could be a good one, but if I see the one posted on the e-bay.de link here, i'm beginning to doubt

Could it be possible to post some good ones to compare with when I find one?
