Info on the 50 Arm. Batl. greatly appreciated

Hey all, I was just looking over a WWI dog tag that I've had for a little while now, and I saw it's from a soldier (from Saarbrucken) who was in the 2nd Company of the 50th Armored Battalion. However, I have been unable to find any information on this unit. I am contemplating selling this dog tag and I would like to find out some information on it first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Andrew

    Andrew,

ARM. = Armierungs. These labor units were normally made up from older men and younger ones who were not combat fit, but could handle a shovel. They were called "Schipper" or shovelers, because they did the mundane labor jobs, digging trenches, unloading munitions, etc. As mentioned, they were non-combat troops and enlisted men were not issued weapons. They were often in harms way, as they would work near the front on occasion. There is little information available on these units.
