--Well, I would say that you've got an 1870 EK2 there but I'd want a clearer pic of the obverse anyway.
--The oaks seem to be fine too, but a reverse shot would help and speaking of a reverse shot; one would have to be 100% necessary to discuss the Wiederholungsspange...

I agree with Bill. . . but it is looking very good so far! Nice catch!

          Justin,

Clearer pictures are definately in order. The W-spange looks fine from the front, but there are two sides to everything. The EK and Oaks are probably from the Jubilee period but we would need clear pictures and some weights and measurements to confirm.

                  Justin,

From the reverse of the "Spange", it looks good. I don't have the Previtera's book "Iron Time" handy, but if you have it there are some examples of such "Spangen".

Maybe somebody here could help you by posting some detailed images of such "Wiederholungsspange 1870" on this very thread. I am also interested to see some examples, since I was puzzled to see so many of such EK combinations (EK 2.Kl. with Eichenlaub and Wiederholungspange mounted on the ribbon) at last year's show in Stuttgart. Such combinations are not so common...

I've through these too, and have to keep telling myself that this is a H-O-B-B-Y, not life or death. But, on the other hand, those words sound pretty hollow when you want something so back you can almost taste it.
