      here is my attempt at some artistic pics.

      if only i could have been there to pick these items up from the battlefield or the surrendering troops.

            I will take a shot at it.

            This flask belonged to Reservist Rüter commemorating his time (1910-1912) in the 4th Battalion of the Rheinish Field Artillery Regiment nr. 23 which was garrisoned in Coblenz.

            I have long admired these flasks although I have never been fortunate enough to own one; and I would like to add that this is definitely one of the nicest examples I have ever seen

                              Nice Kay Very rich looking displays.

                              I appreciate your adding to this thread.

                              I started this thread as a way to try to fill the gaps between the long periods of no posts.
                              I was hoping this thread might inspire others to garb the camera and have a go at it.
