EK I small ribbin bar,help wanted!

Hi all!

I got this small ribbon bar, what does it mean when the EK has that kind of EK-device?? Official or unofficial?

EDIT: Sorry of course supposed to be EK II on ribbon bar in the subject. (if a moderator can change this feel free to do so)

Unofficial device. There were other awards that used the same ribbon so perhaps the wearer wanted to be sure everyone knew he had an EK.

My understanding is that these small EK devices were used on Saxon medal bars.

These devices are featured in many period catalogs from all over Germany. I don't know that we can say on Saxons used them. It is more of a vanity item and not an official one anyways.

Official or not, these EK-devices were illustrated in Beco's sales catalogue, which was published not earlier than 1940, due to the presence of the RAD-device.
