At least I think it is... (although I don't seem to find the answer rightaway) What's the difference between the Sakson silver Friedrich August-medal and the bronze one? One for officers and one for NCO's and soldiers, or am I wrong there?

I might be wrong but I think the silver was for combat and the bronze
for non-combat. -

The bronze ones were usually enlisted. The silver went to NCOs or to an enlisted man as a second award. I am sure Dave Danner can school us more. They often appear together for the Saxon fighting man. Here is one fine example. SteveComment

means, enlisted ones get the bronce one, for additional Merits the silver one. NCO´s get initially the Silver one, if they have more than 20 years of Service they get immediately the Albert Cross with swords instead of the Friedrich August medal.
