You help please on this Order of the Red Eagle 4th class

Hello to all, may I have your opinions on this Order of the Red Eagle 4th class please? the center piece is very loose, and there is a maker mark "Z" on the round edge, at the beginning I thought it's a good one, but by now I kind of think it could be a high-end copy, so I would really like to hear to you experts, any comments are appreciated.

I didn't mean any offense in the thread title, it was a typing error, so could anybody please me a little bit on this subject? Thank you in advance.

      Hi Tang,

Personally I do not see anything wrong with this example. Central medallions can certainly work loose - they were fitted separately after all.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Thank you Mr.Mike, I feel much more reliefed now, so is it a replacement model or late pattern? Because normally I see the suspension ring on the imperial medals is in ball alike shape, this one is not, that's why it got me wondered.

This would be a later pattern with the pebbled arms. Some makers did use the "ball" ring loop. Some makers did not. "Z" (I read somewhere was for Ziech, Berlin) are apparently in th elatter category for the RAO4.

            Hello Tang,

the suspension ring is different from maker to maker. Wagner, producer of the most 4th classes, used a real round, ball-shaped ring, Godet more oval, others like Zehn or Rosenthal a slim ring like yours.
There are also variations where cross and reverse-medaillon are two parts or produced in one part.
Your cross is an original with separate reverse-medaillon, both medaillons should be fixed with a diagonal screw through the center.
The white enamled plate with the eagle is not glued or soldered, only fixed with by bending the edges of the medaillon-ring. So the center-medaillon of many Red-Eagle-Orders ist 360 degrees turnable.
I have only an opened Crown-Order in my collection, the center with the crown is fixed in the same way.
