    1870 EK2 and 25 Year Jubilee

Posts are just weird so I'm starting over. Here's a couple of pics from a friend who would like some feedback. I know pics are not sharp. This is round 3 of photos. I'm going to suggest he get a new camera!

    THANKS!

I don't see anything "wrong" with. It's just so-so quality, though, for an 1870. If I had to guess, it's an 1895-1918 piece, give or take. Any marks on the ring? Sometimes the late ones were maker marked like the 1914's.

        Yes....

This would be better dealt with in "Imperial."

          RE: The Cross & Spange

I don't see anything blatently wrong here, although crisper pix would certainly be the defining thing! Having said that, I would concur with this being (probably) an 1895 re-strike of the cross, made to match the nice new Jubilee spange. Note that this spange is mounted on the ring, which was actually the "per regulation" way to wear it. The leaves mounted on the ribbons was a bit of a no-no! I don't have the regs here, but I believe they specified the spange was to be worn "as close as possible to the cross"... You don't see a lot of these mounted on the ring, but every once in awhile one like this pops up!
