    Hindenburgstern

I picked up this copy at the SOS. A decent display piece and is similar to the one in Previtera's book with the screwback plate. Any thoughts on when this one was made??? Looks like a TR era EKI on there.

It's been a week so I figured I'd bump this back up to the top for review/comments... Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

                    Hi George,

The cross itself is a good and textbook late-war or postwar example by Wilhelm Deumer. To me it's not easy to distinguish between late war or postwar Deumers. The cross is obviously original to the star due to the gold-colored disc and inlet on the reverse of the star. Overall I'd say it's a very nice piece, maybe by Deumer, made some time between 1942-ish and 1960-ish.

                      Hi George!
All the 57er era Deumer Imperial cored EK's I've seen have had a slightly different core, probably most noticeable in the date............
                      57 era.............
                      tr6.jpg

Yours looks more like this one????...........
                      tr3.jpg
I believe that to be an earlier core.
That, coupled with slight differences in paint finish and frosting to 57 era pieces, makes the EK on your Stern look more like a wartime produced piece I reckon??
                      But that's only my thoughts!!!!!
