    1914/1939 EK1 question

    hello all

I am looking out for a 1939 version of the 1914 EK1: what would be a fair price for such a piece as i have no real idea.

I have seen a few between the 155-185 euro mark, which was a little higher than I expected.

    cheers

    Dave,

They seem to trade around the price of any other non silver 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class.

I have been looking for the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class made by Steinhauer and Lueck in the 1957 to 1960 period, without success. Anyone know where I should be looking?

Bob is right. They go for the same price, or higher if they are marked.

It's strange because 1914 EK2's are about half the price of 1939 EK2's, yet there is very little difference between EK1's from 1914 and 1939.. I think on average a 39 EK1 will go a little higher most times but not always. Also, there are varities of Imperial EK1's that will bring much more than a 39 equivelent such as the Hansens, silver content pieces, rare attachments etc. Very few 39 EK1's will bring over $400 US but there are many 1914 varieties that will. 1914 EK2's however have stayed affordable while 39 EK2's have shot through the roof recently.
