My 50th Iron Cross WS EK1

I don't know how it happened. It started with one EK. That couldn't hurt could it? Next thing I knew I was waking up in a heap on the floor, surronded by them! What happened? The arrival of this piece marks my 50th EK. It's a nice marked WS EK1. The maker's mark is to the right of the catch and is very faint, but it is there. The core should prove it to be a WS also. I need help as there are 4 more EK's on the way!

Here's the rear. Doubt if you can see the maker mark as it is lightly struck. The end of the pin not shown is as sharp as a needle.

      Congratulations Steve!
A great cross to mark your 50 as well!
I currently have five outstanding which should take me to the big five-oh within the next week or so! Mainly '39s but should the 50th through the door be the Imperial I have on hold I'll post it here!

Thanks Adrian. Post some pics later. I was wondering which one would arrive first and be 50. This was a good one for sure. Here's the rest of the family. This is my case of Imperial EK1's and EK2's with ribbons plus a couple of minitures.

Here's all my 39's. This part of my collection has stagnated lately, somewhat due to prices and my concentration on Imperials. I do have a couple of new ones on the way though. The EK1/EK2 stickpin is the only new item in there.

Here's 15 more 1914 EK2's without ribbons. Thney were all in one case but I had to break them up. The glare off the glass doen't do this case justice. It's hanging on the wall and looks great. I picked up some purple material as a backing and it really set it off. There's one other Imperial EK2 not shown that is in a Riker Mount display with a grouping. Thanks for looking.

Steve, you are unfortunately, genetically prone to collecting. Just be thankful that when you started you bought an EK. Unfortunately, I bought a Pickelhaube.

                Nice displays!

Thanks Tony and Kaiser. I'd love a pickelhaube myself. Have had a few Daschunds in the past also. Lovely dogs.

Hi Steve, The W S is definitely a splendid example to commemorate the big 5 0! You did good!

                      ...and nicely displayed.

Can you imagine if you could demand a video of the acts of courage from all these crosses and play them one at a time what we'd be seeing?

                        Well done Steve.
The WS is a nice cross and a maker that I have yet to add to
                        my small collection.

Thanks guys. Unfortunatley as they go up, your bank account goes down!
