what medal is this?

I have been having trouble finding out anything on this medal. My apologies for the poor pictures. One side is marked ZURERINAR AN DEUTSCHLANDS HELDENKAMPF GEGEN FRANKREICH 1870... THE OBVERSE IS GEFERTIGT AUS GRANATEN VON KREIGSSCHAUPLATZ it seems cast and is thicker than a normal medal.

It seems to me to be a memorial badge, perhaps from a veteran's Treffen? The obverse translates to: "In memory of Germany's Heroic Fight Against France - 1870"

The reverse states: "Made of grenades (mortar/artillery round) from the battlefield" (war's scene= Kriegsschauplatz).

made from grenades would seem right as it seems to be a cast iron material that it's made from... thanks for the translation... jim
