    Lets see your Pre-1914 bars!

Here is my only example. It is a really nice 1866/1870 bar. There are no really high ranking medals here, yet the bar does reflect a very long period of dedicated service.

It is hard to believe that the original awardee of this bar was of age to fight in the American Civil War(1861-1865).

    Any input is greatfully encouraged.

    1. General Service Medal
    2. 1870 Combattant Campaign medal
    3. 1866 Combattant Campaign medal
    4. Reserve Long Service Medal(1913 version)
    5. Centenial Medal

Thank you PaulR, I’ve developed an appreciation for those Carl Friedrich medals. This particular one was awarded to Gefreiter Ludwig Rauch of the 3rd Inf. Regt. on 8 January 1871 ... [in] acknowledgment of outstanding bravery on 18 December 1871 in the battle at Nuits.

Marc, that is one of the most unique bars that I’ve seen in a long time - all of that Saxon with a Reuss merit cross (?). You’ve been holding out on us.

Dave, both of yours are truly fine - that second one is really my kind of bar.

                Let’s keep this thread rolling!

                Best wishes,
