A couple of folks asked to see a few more Vivat (also spelled "Vivant") ribbons, so here are some samples. Unfortunately, the long, thin format of these doesn't really allow for full display, so these are just representative segments. The last pic shows the label on one of the hard-cover folders that could be obtained to house your Austrian collection (there were separate German and Austrian series).
These were the "WHW donation tinnies" of W.W.I, given in return for donations to the Red Cross of the Kriegshilfsbuero. They tended to commemorate national heroes, segments of the armed forces, specific units, battles, and other patriotic themes. Artists and styles varied and I've tried to picture a small cross section of the various motifs.
