EK1 help? good or bad engraving

    Yes Mike, you are correct is there some raised ridges between the beading.

      Personally , engraving or no engraving i still would pay $100 for it . It is nice to look at and when on display who would see the back of it. What i think you need to decide is whether you think the cross is worth $100 to you . I would not say that the engraving has de-valued it in any way. as long as when you decided to let it go you made the buyer aware of the fact that the engraving is not period.
      If you dont want to keep it let me know and ill buy it from you for $100 . OK

        I'd have to judge the engraving in-hand to get a "feel" for it, but my first impression on this is that it's probably a good piece. No attempt has been made to glorify the inscription, or add a name to it, which would raise value siginificantly if genuine. Just a simple engraved date and without seeing it up close, it could be 1930's period engraving. I've seen a lot of that style numbering on watches from the 30's and 40's.

        If the engraving turns out to be "good", it would make a nice addition to a collection. Certainly less of a risk than the engraved SS and pilot name EK's being sold on FleaBay.
