I picked this EK up several years ago and I have been curious about it since day one. I noticed Eric had one similar and he advised me to post the pics. I am trying to determine the time-frame for production and the style name. I was told it is called a "cushion" EK because that is what the pattern on the reverse looks like. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for posting such sharp, clear scans. Photos like this are indeed worth 1,000 words.
This is a very odd style and I have seen very few "pillow" or "cushion" crosses--and none with the highly ornate but completely anonymous maker mark on this one.
Makes you wonder why any company went to so much trouble to have a completely unreadable design!

This style of EK1 came in many formats--flat and vaulted, screwback, wide and thin pins, and in all grades of silver as well as plated brass. Here's a heavily vaulted version with a wide pin.
The pin has a period repair to the hinge area. Cross is not hallmarked.
