        I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a doughnut that this EK is totally magnetic. Core and frame alike. I have both an EKI and EKII with similar 'coppering' over an all steel base. This 'coppering' helped with the silver plating.

        This doesn't make it bad, just an interesting variant.

            I took the test, the cross is not magnetic. What does that mean?

              Rik,

              Later in the war, the materials used on these crosses varied widely. Some had silver plated finishings instead of all silver, some had zinc or other alloy centers instead of iron, and there are even known single piece copper with silver plated trim examples. Steve
