    Finally-Napoleonic Wars Jaeger rifle!

I finally got around to getting this from my dad's friend. My camera went kaputt after taking this one pic of it (a crappy picture at that). I will go pick up some new batteries and get more pictures for you guys. I hardly know anything about it, besides that my dad was telling me it probably started it's life in the 1770's or 1780's in a Prussian state. If you guys can tell me more, I would appreciate it. I also plan on selling to get money for my trip to Europe. What is it worth?
    Thanks!

Got one more photo in. I put the mouse in the pic for scale.
More to come once I get batteries.

I guess no one on the forum knows anything about these.
Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Does it have any markings on it? I can vaguely see something on the back of the lock, but can't read it from the photos.

I think what looked like markings on the photo are just flaws in the metal. Just my 2-cents.
                      Thanks for the interest!

Really nice rifile! What caliber is it?

Theoretically it should have an "FW" mark, and maybe "POTSDAM" on it somewhere, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I can't locate a good reference source on these, so I can't give a specific model year. It's probably a model used from the 1790's through the Napoleonic period. At auction, it's probably 1,500 to 2,500 US dollars.

I will try to get a scan of the back of the lock. Now it looks to me like it was a marking. There are two letters- I can make out that the second letter is N, but I cannot make out the first letter.
                            Hope this helps a little.
                            Later!

I got a close picture of the marking. Wish I could make out that first letter. Maybe someone can help?
