Heeeyy!!! You tryin' to sneak Third Reich stuff into our nice clean Forum?
Unterfeldwebel was the second rank of sergeant (from 1920 on), between Unteroffizier and Feldwebel. The strap had lace around the entire outer edge, whereas an Unteroffizier had no lace at the shoulder end and a Feldwebel wore one pip.
Sanitäts indicates medical branch. For some reason, this rank sort of fell out of routine promotion use during WW2, and most Unteroffiziers seem to have jumped straight to Feldwebel when promoted after 1939.

Medics in the Artillery
Hello,
Every German Infantry-, Artillery-, etc. Regiment had also doctors and male nurses (Sanitätsmannschaften & -unteroffiziere) attached.

Very odd! FIVE years as an ordinary private, and only made UNTERfeldwebel in his 12 years--
this is quite peculiar, in my experience. The Reichswehr picked "the cream of the crop." He was therefore not likely to have been an "underachiever"-- it must have been as simple as that given his chosen specialty, there simply was no other prospect of promotion-- like band members and similar types who had no "upward" slots to fill.
having joined late in 1920, he left late in 1932 having completed his 12 year enlistment obligation.
Is this an old left over IMPERIAL book, still being used in 1932????!

Why has he writen 'no' by some of the info, does this indicate its wrong?
Also, there is some bad scribble handwriting on the next page, you could try and read it if it would help. Theres also a stamp.

I believe those entries were made by someone who only wrote in some strange Central-Asian Muslim script!!!
Basically, he was discharged with "no" uniform items, and to pay for his own rations to discharge point.

He entered the Kaiser Wilhelm Military Medical Academy, and served with the Prussian Guards before and during WW!. His part of the alphabet has been done, so Bernhard or Glenn may be able to post his portrait for you if he had one in the new Generals bio series.

Per various Reichsheer Ranglisten, his awards were WW1 EK 1 and 2, Hohenzollern Honor Cross (=Principality's House Order) 3rd Class (swords aren't shown, but MUST have been with Swords), Baden Zähringen Lion-Knight 2nd with Swords, Oldenburg Friedrich August Crosses 1st and 2nd, Hamburg Hanseatic Cross, Austro-Hungarian Franz Joseph Order-Knight on War Ribbon, AustHung Red Cross Decoration 2nd Class with War Decoration.
His rank of "Generalarzt" was NOT a General rank--that old, confusing title = an Oberst, and was changed later in the 1930s. On 1 January 1941 he was promoted to Generaloberstabsarzt (the 2 pip equivalent of a "General der Infanterie" say) and soon thereafter was made Chief of Army Medical Services, receiving the Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords on either (depending on source) 23 or 24 September 1943.
Somehow or other, he got mixed up in abominations with medical experiments on prisoners, for he was sentenced to 20 years at the Nuremberg "Doctors" Trial, but was released early to die in Munich 3 July 1954.
And who says all this old dull paperwork is "boring?"
