    Lippe-Detmold again

    Dang! I got on the scanner last night in hopes of being number 10,000 but I was too late. Oh well, c'est la vie.

    This arrived recently. It was cased, but I don't have a digital camera, so no pics. The Lippe-Detmold Kriegsehrenkreuz für heldenmütige Tat (War Honor Cross for Heroic Deeds):

    Dave, congrats on the find. I especially like the double catch construction. The hinge and pin assembly makes me nervous, though. Can you show us a shot of it?

      Hi,

      I've seen that "double catch" arrangement quite a bit recently whereas I had not really noticed it as of a few years ago. Does anybody have any idea as to what period this type of catch arrangement might belong to (eg 1920s, 30s, 50s, 70s or very recent?). The hinge sorts of looks like the hinge on my '57 Meck-Schwerin KVK1, so maybe it's a post-45 replacement? Dave, I hope someone more knowledgeable comes along and says your cross if fine.
