Hi everybody,
This is my first message.
The 231.Infantry-Division became operational in April 1917. It was composed of IR 442 - IR 443 and IR 444, forming the 231.Infanterie- Brigade.
Unfortunately I have not found any historical books for these three regiments. These regiments were formed mainly from elements of the 1.Garde-Reserve-Division.
Since these are elements from the Guard, no doubt there are still documents concerning these three regiments?
I am particularly interested in the period at the end of the war.
This division was commanded from 21 September 1918 by Generalleutnant Emmo von DEWITZ.
I am looking also for his portrait. Does anyone have a picture of this general please?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best Regards.
