    1870 Kurhessische Medal Bar

    Hi Guys,

    I finally got my scanner to work again. I’ve been wanting to show you all this one and see what you think. This is my most recent bar.

    KDM 1870
    Centenial Medal
    Kurhessische Jubilee Medal

    This Kurhessische medal is dated 22. November on the reverse and according to Hessenthal/Schreiber was awarded to veterans of the,

    Fusilier Regiments von Gersdorff (Kurhessisches) Nr. 80
    Infantry Regiment von Wittich (3. Kurhessisches) Nr. 83
    Husar Regiment Konig Humbert von Italien (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 13
    1st Kurhessischen Field Artillery Regiment Nr. 11

    From what I understand, there were actual issue awards and later period copies made. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

      Hi Matt,

      really a nice bar with a rare medal!
      This jubilee medals issued in 1913 are really not often to find. For that less number of 70 years old recipients I cannot imagine the need of later period copies.
