    info on EK2.1914

    Hi all,

I am new to this forum as you see.
I used to collect belgian ODM but since I only need a few pieces which are quite scarce, I decided to "browse" the possibilities and I came to German/Austrian Imperial ODM
Since I always liked those, I sometimes bought a piece for a few.
One of those items was an Iron Cross2. 1914 with a "N" makers mark on the ring.
This might be a stupid question, but an "N" on its side is a "Z" - in other words, how does one have to read the mark?

I hope these pictures are detailed enough - it's the best I could do.

many thanks in advance for your expert explanation.

Marc, The pics do not come up. N and Z are recognized maker marks.

        marc-

i'm not certain that there is a special "strategy",
other than holding as many as you can. as paul
said, both are recognized makers. yours are "N"
and when you see the "Z" mark, it won't leave
        much to the imagination.
and the MM's seem to be all over the place in
terms of their orientations. i make a habit of looking
over the ring, the eye, and the frames of all
        of them. hope this helps.
