    1813 EK1 opinions please

    Hi Guys,

Please would you be so kind as to let me know your thoughts on this nice looking cross? Maybe a late 19th Century piece or possibly a converted 1914 ek1?

    Many thanks in advance

I am no expert on later 1813 EK1s (always found them a minefield), but I'm leaning towards a converted 1914 or turn of the century piece. Reason is because of the crisp obverse frame and the lines on the 12 and 6 o clock arms on the back. Perhaps a pin was removed?

I'm sure someone with far more knowledge will be along soon to help us both out on this one.

These loop-type reverse hardware crosses are almost invariably converted 1914 pieces.

          Not an original 1813 cross.

Looks like a 1914 frame to me.

That was my first impression as well.
