Gordon,
Ciao,Very nice piece!
If the IC 2nd class with the "25" oakleaves has to be considered scarce, I can imagine that a with the bar "Wiederholungsspange 1914" is rarer than hen's teeth!
Do you know the statistics, how many clasps were awarded? I can deduce that this bar would have been given just to senior NCO or officers that have been recalled to serve during WWI, since the all these recipients were quite old or already retired. Furthermore these old soldiers had to earn the IC again on the field... Do you know of any IC 2nd with Eichenlaub and Wiederholungsspange awarded with the "Nicht-kämpferband"?
I can think of a very famous recipient: Paul von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg (1847-1934).
Has anybody a pictures of the old Feldmarschall in full regalia with his EK 2. Kl. with the "Wiederholungsspange"?
Excuse me the many questions, but I am really anxious to know more about it, since I have been always interested in having such a wonderful medal in my own collection. I think that such medals should be exposed in museums to the benefit of all students of military history.
Thank you for having shared this beautiful example! The miniature is also a very delicate and beautiful piece... I just love the craftmanship of Godet's juwellers.
Ciao,
Claudio

Beautiful! The only problem I can see with it is that it isn't mine
Claudio, yes to your second question. I've seen the Eichenlaub and Spange on a Nicht-kämpferband, but only once.
