    Leistungsabzeichen DDR

    Hello

I just would like to know if that "Leistungsabzeichen DDR" early type is original ?

Looks good to me. See my comment in your uniform thread.

      Hi!

Yes, the badge looks 100% ok to me.
It is indeed a first type badge but that has been modified according to the ordnance Nr. 54/59 of the 7th of December 1959 in which was ordered that from then on all Leistungsabzeichen der NVA had to be produced with the newly introduced State emblem and that the already given badges had to be "re-struck" in order to be "regularized"

These "re-struck" badges are easy to spot because on the back of them you can see the hollow round area left by the die.

For the re-struck operation usually the pin was removed...so it is not unlikely to see that most of the re-struck badges show a resoldered pin....

To re-struck the old badges was also a measure to ensure the holder to keep his old assignement number, since from 1959 the assignement number was no longer struck on the badge

      Cheers,

      Alex

        Thanks guys !

comune1aclasse: Have you ever seen "Leistungsabzeichen" reproduction ?

That one is for sell on eBay. There is no state emblem. What's your opinion ?

The example without Staatswappen also looks good to me. A rather expensive piece.

To my knowledge the Leistungsabzeichen has not been faked, but I would be very interested to hear if anyone has seen fakes.

            Hi Euronymous,

I personally do not know about fakes of this badge. The picture with the badge that doesn't sport the emblem shows a genuine piece. As Rev remarked those pieces are quite expensive.
your badge looked like that before being re-strucked.....after the ordnance of December 1959.

I have never seen reproductions of that badge either. They are all original for the moment. But I am sure they will appear on the marked in the next years.

both are early originals. the first one shown is a reworked one with the state logo having been stamped into an older issue one that was without the state logo originally. cheers, torsten.
