My DDR East German collection so far

Good evening gents!

I have searched my drawers and pulled out my East German collction. Not anything fancy or anything to write romantic poems about, but its what I have collected as a "non DDR" collector for about 15 years. A few bits and pieces but nothing high end. My other spanges are posted here:

Honestly, I knew nothing about this topic and collected only because of nostalgia. Got a sparked interest a few months ago as I was bored. (hard core third reich collector)

Nothing bought in the last 5 years, but that might change soon I will try to update 2 weeks from now, I hope.

As you can see I have a bit of interest in Grenztruppen, as I faced these fellows myself 24 years ago. Will try to scan a few of my old pics if I got time. Memories.

It depends, with DDR stuff you can collect quality or quantity...or both. With "quality" it might take you a while to fill rooms.

Thats true!

Lower end stuff, or lets say common, is not hard to find for good prices. Sometimes really good prices.

The mid range can be found with a bit of luck and timing for fair prices, but the top stuff is not that easy to find for "fair" prices. Unless youre lucky. And the latter category needs deeper knowledge as there are more fakes around.

Darn, I do not even have this Bartels book which numbers and versions most refers to. Still here is quite a bit of information here on the forum which is great.
