East German Paratrooper Helmet Net Covers

I bought a helmet net for my East German paratroopers helmet and cant for the life of me figure out how this thing attaches to the helmet. I dont know if there are different types but the one I have has a drawstring to it and I know the standard issue military helmet net had metal clips to attach it to the rim. Perhaps some of the NVA veterans or Falli collectors can shed some light on this mystery. How does the helmet net attach securely to the helmet?

could you post pics of the net and the helmet that you are trying to attach it to? Cheers, Torsten.

Normally very easy pull it over the Helmet, pull the Drawstring and make a Knot.
That's the reason why it is hard to find used, intact Nets. to remove them in Storage they cut the Drawstring. Somewhere I have a Box with about 200 Net's, all without the cut String except for 2 of them.

your supposed to tuck the net between the shell and the soft pad that goes around the edge and tighten the cord and tuck that in also, and use a plastic spoon handle to tuck the drawstring inside between the padding that goes around the bottom edge

Excellent advice and picture , but is this the jump helmet used by NVA paras?

I thought it would be more like that shown in the attached pic ...

You are both right:

the model that is showing in the picure of torstenbel is one of the earlier para helmets.

This model came in three slightly different versions, which don´t differ much.

The last, fourth model of the para helmet is the polish para helmet which was also used by the NVA later and can be seen in the post of bolo

I believe mine is the Polish version of the jump helmet. I will take pictures and post them when I get home from the office this afternoon
