Who, knows, but I know that the DDR had a lot of business with the DDR.
I was in Egypt in the mid 80's, and on our flight back I said to my Dad in the waiting room that the egyptian Helmets look like the pisspots of the DDR. An old man was sitting there after that like he had a broomstick in his backside and looked very angry to me. You must know that we had a cheap flight back to Schönefeld Airport in East Berlin. My dad told me to be quiet as there a lot of Stasis around.

I would like one of these Egyptian M-56 camo covers.
BTW I think the EA uses a variety of helmets....

Hi, indeed Egyp use a variety of helmets included the DDR M56, but I think they got them after the wall came down, I have a pic of egyptian police with M56s
As far as I know they also use, polish M50 and M67s ( the most common models ) M56 DDR, and US PASGT kevlar, this last in few numbers and to elite units.
                Cheers
                POLI
                Ps: great cover BTW!

in the pic above , with the soldiers in woodland camo, they are nor egyptian, they are turkish soldiers, they got a lot of M56s in the 90s as a presente from unified germany, they inmediatly used then in ops against kurds.
