need help with vopo jacket

Hello all,
I just picked up a mid 80's officers vopo four pocket jacket and was wondering if it was proper to put a police academy badge on it? Also were the police clasp used on these or just enlisted uniforms?

As far as I know it should be fine putting a academy badge on there. I'm not sure about the clasp though.

But the person you should be really looking for would probably be SCHUPO.

Hi cabbell,

An academy badge would be fine on your officer tunic. If by a police clasp you mean a qualification Spange that could also be worn on an officer tunic in some instances. For instance an Leutnant might also be a qualified dog handler and there are period photos of officer ranks wearing such insignia for certain forms of dress.

Exactly what type of uniform do you have? Barracked police can often wear different badges than say traffic VP can.

This is my first uniform sorry i'm really bad at this and my camera doesnt work. I think it is a Schutzpolizei, its not a parade tunic more of a heavy green material with pined on collar tabs.

Do the collar tabs have dark green or light green felt backing?

Just an update a friend of mine looked at the police officer tunic today turns out it's a enlisted uniform with officer collar tabs and shoulder boards added. This tunic was bought from dandcoll on ebay, oh well live and learn back to the drawing board. Anyway thank you all for you help I'll keep trying.

It's part of a whole set. Jacket as shown with trousers, stiefelhose and cap.
