I was born in West Berlin and surrounded by the East so I'm no Ossi or Wessi. Born in the middle of the Vietnam War, grown up in the Cold War, I miss my american Friends I allway's had here. Didn't needed a wakeup call in the morning, 7 AM sharp I had 2 Platoons in front of my flat on morning exercise, everybody tried to sing louder than his neighbour. I'm just a small collector from Holland with a fascination about the German History in general .

It is PURELY my guess but I would say that Dutch dealers bought quite a lot of DDR stuff early on, at the time when it was priced by weight. This naturally means that the militaria scene in Holland has seen quite a few of these items giving plenty of opportunity for people to develop an interest.
I would maintain that it is still the case that the best place to find NVA material (even vehicles) outside of Germany, is Holland. And anybody who has visited Frank Van Gelder's warehouse will know what I mean ...
It is sad that I no longer have access to that

I think Frank is out of business for a while , because he recently has a Heart Surgery , let's hope he will soon be back in the militaria scene .
