Here it is a year later and the pile of books in post #2 is still there, I only got half way through a couple of books. Plus I've added 4-5 more to the pile.

I know the feeling. I have that issue with cleaning up my museum room and sorting everything out in its permanent place ..... which keeps changing.

        Kevin,

As long as you are adding books to your pile of books to read in the future you are doing well. You don't want to lose that interest. I finished two books on the Kriegsmarine (small ones!) this year that have been on the shelves of my library for a long time. Being ill and house-bound for six weeks helped here. I've started "1848" and "1491" and prehaps I'll even finish them this year but my daughter bought me the DVD sets of "Pillars of the Earth" and "Masada" for Christmas and I still have 5 seasons of "Battlestar Galactica" to go! Where will I find the time?

        Michael,

Reorganizing ones museum room is an ongoing, and possibly, a never ending task. At least it is for me.

        Regards,

        Gordon

I can relate, I spent a weekend cleaning out my Man Cave a few weeks back and found NVA stuff in boxes I'd forgotten I had. I don't have room to display much of anything at the moment, at least until my adult children move out. I also came across a long forgotten box of Bundeswehr/BGS insignia (ranks, badges, etc) that I'd accumulated over the years that I'm not sure what I'm going to do with.

The next weekend I pulled all of my para and VM uniforms out of the closet and did my semi-annual inspection for moths and other critters. I about freaked out when I found evidence of an old moth infestation under the collars of two para and one VM uniform. No damage on the para uniforms and some minor nips on the white VM uniform. They went out to the deep freeze for a few weeks and are now in my garage for an additional dose of freezing weather. I also have a couple of recently purchase VM pea coats out there as well to kill any critters that may have come along for the ride.

Kevin - does the mean once your man cave is cleaned up that I will not be allowed within 1000 feet of your house?

This year I had over all a good year in finishing volume 2 and buying some stasi items for my collection and to be researched.
