The eBay link is to 1st Model FJ trousers, which of course are very rare. Still, nobody bought it at that price so the value isn't very high compared to other rare camouflage items.

The hoods are the most hard to find piece. The later type, which is common, does not have button holes. Otherwise they are identical from what I noticed.

Sorry why are the trousers Fallschirnjaeger? they look identical in pattern to the ones of the '66 set I bought from Alistair.

I think when Steve clicked on your link, the set was already sold (I was tempted, but didn't pull the trigger in the end). What he saw was a picture of the FJ pants that are still available from the same seller, shown in the upper left corner of the closed listing. It's something that eBay does to encourage those who missed out to buy something else

Ah, that explains it. Linking to eBay stuff is a difficult thing! Moving targets I try to avoid linking directly to eBay pictures for this reason and also the fact that they don't stay available for very long.

The easy way to identify old style FJ trousers is they button up on the hips, not the crotch as per usual.

The trousers without a matching jacket really knocks the value down IMHO. Chances of getting a jacket are not great.

BTW, I've seen quite a few 1965/66 jackets with button on hoods in the last few months. Probably just coincidence.

Thanks for posting the picture. It is a very nice set for sure. If I didn't receive one in similar condition a few months ago I'd go for it.
