DDR Herbert Bochow flag streamer

Just picked up a red DDR flag streamer
embroidered in white "HERBERT BOCHOW" with the
date "7.Oktober 1975" on the other end. Anyone
know which DDR unit flags would have been awarded
this streamer (KG, VOPO, NVA, GZT) and why? Also
would be interested to learn more about Bochow.

I am not able to provide you an answer, but when time permits post a picture of the banner. Thanks...
Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group

I suspect this was a traditions name bestowed upon a unit in 1975, but have no idea which organization within the DDR. Herbert Bochow was a German Communist Party functionary that was active in the anti-Nazi resistance during WWII. He was executed by the Gestapo in 1942 at Plötzensee Prison in Berlin.

Herbert Bochow was a writer, born on 20 November 1906 in Eberstadt, Hessen. He joined the Communist Party in 1929 when he was a student in Leipzig as a result of his connections with other students and artists.

Here is the link to the auction which shows the actual streamer:

Hello Kevin:
Thanks for posting some interesting info about Bochow.
Have seen lists of Nazi martyr names and the SA units awarded same, but not yet the DDR version. I've noted a red KURT PCHALEK streamer on the #154 KG-H Bautzen and FRIEDRICH ENGLES on the #26 KG-H (mot.) Rathenow unit flags, so likely the HERBERT BOCHOW is also to a DDR KG unit flag. Likewise, it seems that 7.Oktober is the award day for such streamers,
which I believe is the founding day of the KG, right?

Was wondering if 7 October 1953
is also the Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse (KG)
founding day date too? Likewise, would like to find out
how many of the ~2021 KG unit flags were awarded DDR
martyr names - of KG 55 Bataillons, 526 Hundertschafts,
1440 Zug units, i.e., total=2021 KG units with flags.

Found another DDR red streamer

Found another DDR red streamer, this one
with the name JOSEF THOMAS, with a 7.Oktober 1978
date below. Again assumed to have been awarded to a
KG unit flag, so still would like to find out how many of
the ~2021 KG unit flags were awarded DDR martyr names,
that is of the 55 Bataillons, 526 Hundertschafts, 1440 Zug
units, i.e., a total=2021 KG units with flags.
