    johan,
is it only on some of your certificates written in red or on all of them?
I also noticed a difference on the "Schwertscheide". On mine is a metal shining bit on the end but on the others I have seen here,it is black.

      Unfortunately,

Most of the pictures are not visible to me.

From the few that are, the sword looks to be genuine. But I wish I could see more. Also, I cannot comment at all on the certificate, as I don't have one and cannot see photos of the one in question if they were posted. But David H. does. If photos of the certificate are indeed posted and visible to him, perhaps he can comment and confirm the originality of both the sword and the certificate.

        Hi Andreas

Some of the certificates are with red and some not ( they are smaller )

        The certificate for the sword

        The certificate for the dagger

Another version of the certificate for the dagger

Hello,I had once a copy off this sword. When I had it in my hands and shaked it a little bit,I had the feeling that it would fel apart. The original felt very stiff.
The lower part off the black ???(don't know the English word)looks the same as the copy.
Its so difficult!!! because there where several different types. And if you can copy a sword, the document must be more easy to copy.

                Hello Stefas,

The Sword posted here feels and looks like really good quality but I never held a real one in my hands before and Im too afraid to buy a good copy.
                Thanks and Regards

I have 3 of these swords in my collection, each is slightly different than the other. Your sword looks good to me. Most of the repro's are very obvious. I do not have the guarentee paper to compare that. I have seen these sell for 250,00 - 400,00 Euro. It depends on your desire for one.

                    Thanks for your comment.

250EUR for a genuine NVA Sword sounds very cheap

BTW.. I have some trouble to become a A.Member again because the WAF does not accept PayPal anymore
Can anyone help me out how to work out to get the A.Membership again please?

                        Hope the Photos work now.
So far,the comments I have read here are good about the sword. Can anyone PM me a fair Price for a Genuine NVA Parade Sword? I have been offered the sword for a Price and need to know if its reasonable.

                        Thanks and Regards

hmm..thats a hard nut for me to crack
after seeing lots of sword pictures here..I noticed that nearly each sword is slightly different from the other..and also different from mine...I dont know how to decide.

and after I saw the Garantieurkunde that David posted in one of his Threads, Im not sure on that either.
Although, the Serial Numbers from September to November are not that far away..but what makes me wondering is that the Garantieurkunde from David Sword in this Thread is probaly from a Repro or post1990 Sword.

                                Andreas,
This is a late style of sabre, the question is was it put together before or after the fall of the wall!! I do have quite a few sabres one of which is very similar to the one you picture. The picture below is a few years old now, but I still have the sabre, it is still sealed in plastic with hanger and cert (1988), I first saw this actual sabre in early 91 when a friend brought it back from a trip to Germany in late 90,this suggests it was made towards or at the end of the DDR and is not a fake...although unissued. So the sabre you show Andreas I suspect comes from this time frame. I have never really trusted late certs as I remember seeing too many original but blank ones shortly after the wall fell.
There are some differences to mine the trail is a slightly different shape, and the overall finish is not quite so good and the serial number is a tad wonky...

Conclusion: From what I can see, made at the original sabre factory, but possibly put together after the fall of the wall, very hard to say for sure. I would probably buy it as it is a good price and I would not have too much of a problem having it in my collection as a late pattern sabre..
